Ricochet Racing was founded to provide top quality products to the UTV, ATV, and off-road community.

Our founder, Alan Ohst, is currently an avid off-road enthusiast with a long history in the racing and high-performance industry.  He was nicknamed "Ricochet" due to his constant desire to make everything he drove faster and faster.

Even as a child, Alan showed both an intense interest and talent for engine building and tuning.  He was certified in 1978 by Southern California Regional Occupation Center in Engine Rebuilding, receiving top honors in his class.

In the US Navy, Alan received his Air Frames and Power Plant Designation, working on various types of aircraft engines (both jet and naturally aspirated).   While on tour in Hawaii, Alan continued to pursue his interest by setting up the base automotive shop and assisting his fellow sailors with their automotive work.  In his off-time, Alan raced competitively at the Campbell Industrial Raceway located 1 ½ miles off base. By doing this, he learned how to set up the cars correctly to get the horsepower to the ground, specializing in tuning and engine setups.

Later, Alan developed his computer and electronics skills, moving into fuel injected engines.  Having dealt with carburated throughout the 80s, the power of electronic fuel management was a blessing that allowed for much more accurate fuel management. 

Over the years, Alan has helped many of his friends and competitors in building and tuning their engines, mostly the underdogs that could not afford the high priced performance builds offered by the race shops. This meant that he has developed a great eye for quality, paying a great deal of attention to detail on the engine builds.

In addition to his automotive background, Alan is also an ASME certified welder and has extensive experience in commercial building automation.
